8.ThewaysofusingCLAB
CLABcanbeused:
‐ as an interface connected to a CASIO Graphic Calculator with displayof
measureddataonthecalculatorscreen,
‐ asaninterfaceconnectedtoaPCcomputerwithdisplayofmeasureddataon
thecomputerscreen,
‐ asastand‐alonedata‐logger.
8.2.CLAB
withaCASIOGraphicCalculator
CLABcanbeusedwithCASIOGraphicCalculatorsonwhichtheE‐CONsoftwareis
installed, such as CASIO fx‐CG Series, fx‐9860GII Series or ClassPad II (fx‐CP400).
WhenconnectedtoacalculatorCLABiscontrolledbytheE‐CONsoftwarerunning
on
the calculator. The collected data are transferred to the calculator and the
measurementcanbefollowedandanalyzedonthecalculator.ToconnectCLABto
aCASIOGraphicCalculatoryouneedadatacommunicationcablewith3‐pinjack
connectors(SB‐62).ThiscableisprovidedwithyourCASIOGraphic
Calculator.
8.1.CLABwithaPCcomputer
Via the provided USB cable CLAB can be connected to a USB port of a PC
computer and work as a lab interface. The Coach 6 program running on the PC
controls CLAB. The collected data are transferred to the computer and
the
measurement can be followed and analyzed on the computer screen. The USB
cableisprovidedwithyourCLABdata‐logger.
8.3.CLABstandalone
When using CLAB as a standalone device, CLAB controls the data collection
process; it collects and stores the measurement data. This is very useful for
remote data collection e.g. outside the school. The experimental setup is
preparedusingtheE‐CONapplicationonaCASIOGraphicCalculatorortheCoach
softwareonacomputeranduploadedtoCLAB.Themeasureddataarestoredin
the CLABmemory and can bedownloaded into acalculator or
acomputer after
themeasurementisfinished.
